I am married to my best friend, Jon.   We have two children. Jon is a retail engineer for CBRE, a property management company.  I work at home for an insurance company and a magazine company.  I am the new editor for Austin Faith & Family Magazine, and ABBA's online magazine.

Kamrin, our daughter, recently married Tyler.  She is a University of Texas graduate and currently works at ESA Engineering, where Tyler also works, while he is finishing up school. Our son Conner is entering his senior year of high school.

I love to write.  I am passionate about families spending time together, sharing and learning about God's love for them and others. I taught school for many years, and also finished a course for writing children's books.  I often scouted the Christian bookstores for devotions for our family, but most of them were a page-a-day story and a prayer...very boring to me.

I began writing devotions for our kids, with fun activities involved, using things around the house and yard, to teach lessons about God.  Several friends began asking for them and I sent them weekly via email.  After about three years, I decided to try to get them published, and Ambassador Emerald Publishing Company liked the idea and offered to take on the project.

The whole project was a God-thing from beginning to end, with the finances we needed being available for the publishing itself, to the right timing and people in my life to get the book reviewed and accepted by FOCUS ON THE FAMILY.  This also led me to being placed on the writer's list for Focus, writing articles for their parenting magazines.

I hope you will consider making family night part of your routine, and I hope these devotions will stir you to love God more and know more of his love for you.  They are fun, interactive and different.  You certainly won't be bored!

Here's to strong families, devoted to one another and to our awesome God!
